MIDCUTICON KN 2024
MIDCUTICON Karnataka 2024 conference was held amidst the nature and picturesque landscape of Sakleshpur, on the 4th & 5th of May 2024. It was hosted by IADVL KN EC and Hubli Dharwad Dermatologist Association.
It was held in Regenta Resort, Sakleshpur. Around 45 dermatologists including IADVL KN EC along with their families attended the event. It was inaugurated with a theme of 'Nature' by watering a plant sapling followed by an invocation song by Ms. Lipi Kulkarni.
The theme of the conference was "Be a part of the solution, not pollution". As a presidential initiative, Dr Mitaxari Hugar, President IADVL KN, implemented for the first time a sustainable approach by replacing plastic water bottles and wooden mementos with reusable glass bottles and useful household items.
Scientific sessions regarding various aspects of dermatology were covered well. 'Dermatology - everybody's domain', a topic on quackery was covered in a humorous way by Dr. Narendra Kamath. 'AI in dermatology' was discussed by Dr. S Sacchidanand. Three-panel discussions were conducted on respectively on 'Melasma - a Mirage' moderated by Dr. T S Vidya, 'Social media in Dermatology' moderated by Dr. Venkataram Mysore, and 'How to establish a pharmacy at clinic' moderated by Dr. Shashikumar B M. All esteemed panelists brought forth excellent points and the discussed went ahead with audiences interacting well.
IADVL Karnataka Master Dermatologist Award 2024 was conferred to Dr. A G Chandrashekar for his immense contribution and excellent service in the field of dermatology and he was felicitated by IADVL KN EC office bearers.
This was followed by a family get-together dinner and a DJ night where everyone enjoyed the event.
The conference ended with handing over of a take home delegate kit which was filled with sumptuous local spices and coffee from Sakleshpur by the organizing team, which was well appreciated by all the delegates.
Activities like nature walks and Zumba sessions were also hosted for the benefit of all those who attended the conference. Local sightseeing of famous architectural marvels Belur and Halebidu was also arranged by the host team on the 5th of May morning.
Conference was hosted amidst nature and all the delegates, along with their family, enjoyed the event well.
