DERMATALENT submission on behalf of Kasturba Medical College

Since 2013, the Department as a whole comes alive with fun and frolic in the months of February, March and April, when we get together and practice for our annual medical college cultural festivals, conducted by students for the staff. It is named as Verve, and is eagerly anticipated by one and all. We sing, we dance, we soliloquize, we learn new talents, including dance steps, sports practice, skit practice, mimicry and many others. This year we performed a hilarious 12 minute skit depicting this era of cosmeceuticals and cosmetological surgery in a humorous though sarcastic way. We danced, we waxed profused about the modern expectations of a flawless skin and body. And we felt that 12 minutes was barely sufficient to showcase our talents to the fullest extent. The year before that we had another skit and dance focusing upon the patient’s expectations about the dermatologist and treatment provided. Though the setting was a dermatology clinic, our fertile imagination added a few song and dance sequences too!

Of course, all this would have been almost impossible without the active help and guidance of our post graduate students, a classic example of reversal of roles.

First issue of the Indian Journal of Dermatopathology and Diagnostic Dermatology(IJDPDD), the official journal of IADVL Karnataka Branch and Dermatopathology Society of India(DSI) has been launched.
